Example of a digital event
In 2020, Würzburg celebrated the 125th anniversary of the discovery of X-rays. An ideal occasion for holding the 50th DGE-BV Congress.
Prof. Dr. Alexander Meining, Head of Gastroenterology at the University Hospital of Würzburg, Conference President and Chairman of the DGE-BV, welcomed more than 2,100 online participants from all over Germany from 8 – 10 April 2021. The congress took place as a “micro-hybrid event”. This means that there was no audience on site, but around forty speakers and chairpersons reported and moderated from the broadcast studio in the Congress Centrum Würzburg.
Three “live streams” were available; the three-day program was broadcast online by professionals using state-of-the-art congress and event technology. A virtual industry exhibition was held in parallel and the almost 50 abstracts submitted were presented as short talks. The agency COCS – Congress Organization C. Schäfer was responsible for the conception and successful implementation of the congress, as well as the detailed coordination with us.

"Even though we would have loved to welcome all participants live in Würzburg for a professional exchange and offer them an attractive supporting program, the congress was very successful under the current conditions. The CCW offered us optimal conditions for our virtual format".
